Engineered to enhance capabilities in the pulmonary vein (PV) occlusion and ablation delivery, the POLARx™ Cryoablation System, featuring the dual-diameter POLARx™ cryoballoon catheter, redefines what's possible in cardiac cryoablation.
The POLARx Catheter is used in conjunction with the SMARTFREEZE Console to induce thermal injury and endocardial tissue necrosis when the POLARx Catheter balloon is in contact with cardiac tissue and reaches cryoablation temperatures created by a nitrous oxide refrigerant (N2 O) injected from the SMARTFREEZE Console into the balloon segment of the POLARx FIT Catheter. The POLARx Catheter balloon diameter is adjustable to either 28 or 31 mm to support the treatment of a wide range of PVs.
